Reducing the site
Halcyon had 24 pages. Six of them were buildings; the remaining 18 concerned the practice. We retained the six and consolidated everything else into two pages: about and contact.
That is the whole strategy. A practice with six exceptional buildings does not need a page explaining its values. It needs the buildings presented large and delivered quickly.
Serving the photography
Every photograph is served at the dimensions the device will actually paint, and no larger. The first image is preloaded at the layout's exact size, so it arrives in under a second on a phone and does not shift the page as it lands.
Outcome
The site is six pages and approximately 40 photographs. Enquiries per visit are running at roughly 2.8 times the previous rate, on a quarter of the content.
